Three different plant decisions
Sludge conditioning balances solids capture, cake condition and equipment throughput. Dissolved air flotation depends on attachment and flotation as well as chemical conditioning. Paper-process use must account for retention, drainage and sheet quality, not only floc visible in a water sample.
Each route requires its own trial method and grade qualification. An effective dewatering polymer must not be presumed suitable for paper production, regulated water uses or any other process without appropriate documentation.
Describe the feed at the actual addition point
Record the composition after upstream treatment, including coagulants, pH adjustment and process additives. Samples taken before those steps can misrepresent the surfaces and dissolved material that the polymer encounters.
Send current product, prepared concentration, dosing location and the measured failure. The sample request allows those details to accompany the intended product form and delivery requirement.
Use a relevant alternative when needed
Not all solids need a cationic polymer. Mineral and inorganic suspensions may justify testing other families. The Xinqi anionic polyacrylamide resource describes a different starting point for those duties.
